Install GuildPilot with the permissions it needs, open the correct server dashboard, and confirm that the bot is ready for configuration.
How to add GuildPilot to your Discord server
GuildPilot needs to be installed before its dashboard can read your server structure or deliver messages. When you finish, the bot will appear in the chosen server and its settings will be available from your GuildPilot dashboard.
Before you start
- Use a Discord account that can add applications to the target server.
- Confirm that you are choosing the intended Discord server during authorisation.
- GuildPilot requests Administrator so its modules can work in private channels and apply their required Discord actions.
Warning: Only approve the installation from the official GuildPilot website. Discord shows the application name, destination server and requested permission before you authorise it.
Add GuildPilot
1. Open the GuildPilot installation flow
On the GuildPilot home page, select Add GuildPilot to Discord. Discord opens an authorisation screen for the GuildPilot application.
2. Choose the destination server
Under Add to server, choose the server you want to manage. Review the displayed Administrator permission, then approve the authorisation and complete Discord's verification prompt if it appears.
3. Sign in to the web dashboard
Return to GuildPilot and select Open dashboard. Sign in through Discord with the same account. The login requests identity and server-list access so GuildPilot can show servers you are allowed to manage.
4. Open the installed server
On Your Discord servers, find the server. A working installation is labelled Installed. Select the server card to open its settings.
You can also run this command in the server if your Discord account has Manage Server:
/setup
GuildPilot replies privately with a link to that server's dashboard.
Test the setup
- Use an account with Manage Server and run
/setupin the installed server. - Open the private dashboard link GuildPilot returns.
- Confirm that the page header shows the intended server and that the sidebar lists its settings modules.
- No test data needs to be removed.
What a successful setup looks like
The bot appears in Discord, the server card says Installed, and /setup opens the matching GuildPilot settings. Each server keeps its own channels, roles and module configuration.
Common problems
The server does not appear in Discord's server list
Cause: Your Discord account cannot add applications to that server.
Fix: Ask the server owner or an administrator with the required Discord access to complete the installation.
The dashboard says NOT INVITED
Cause: GuildPilot is no longer visible in the server or the installation was not completed.
Fix: Select Add server or Re-install from Your Discord servers, approve the Discord authorisation, then select Refresh server list.
The dashboard link returns No access
Cause: You are not the owner, do not have Administrator or Manage Server, and do not hold a configured GuildPilot admin role.
Fix: Ask an authorised server manager to grant the appropriate Discord permission or add a trusted staff role under Settings → Roles.
