GuildPilot Beta
Content and engagement

Compose a Discord Components V2 panel with text, media, containers, buttons and select menus, then publish and verify its member actions.

How to build an interactive Smart Panel with GuildPilot

Smart Panels use Discord Components V2 to combine layout and member actions in one message. You can arrange text, containers, images, files, separators, buttons and select menus, then save the panel for later editing.

Before you start

  • Create the destination text or announcement channel.
  • GuildPilot must be able to send messages and use the uploaded attachment types required by your panel.
  • Create any roles or reusable ticket types before selecting them in actions.

Warning: Deleting a published Smart Panel also attempts to remove its live Discord message. GuildPilot keeps the saved row when Discord refuses that deletion.

Build a Smart Panel

1. Open a new Smart Panel

Open the server dashboard, select Smart Panels, then choose New Smart Panel. Enter the configuration name and destination channel.

2. Add the layout components

Select Add component and choose Content, Container, Image, File or Separator. Select a component in the canvas to edit its text, media source, alt text, spoiler state or spacing.

3. Add member actions

Add Button, Link button or Select menu components. Configure link destinations, self-role actions or reusable ticket actions. GuildPilot signs interactive controls so they remain scoped to this server and saved panel.

4. Arrange and review the canvas

Drag components into the intended order. Confirm that every interactive control has its required role, ticket type or URL and that the Discord preview communicates what members should choose.

5. Publish the panel

Publish the Smart Panel. It appears in Smart Panels hub, where you can open, edit, republish or delete it.

Use one container per visual topic and keep action labels specific. A select menu is useful when several choices lead to the same kind of outcome; buttons work well for a small number of primary actions.

Test the setup

  1. Open the published panel with a normal member account.
  2. Test each link and one option from every interactive control.
  3. Confirm that the expected role or ticket outcome occurs in this server.
  4. Undo any role assignment or close the test ticket after verification.

What a successful setup looks like

Discord displays the saved Components V2 layout in the selected channel. Each enabled action responds to the member and remains associated with the correct server configuration.

Common problems

Publish asks for panel content

Cause: The canvas has no content and no usable action.

Fix: Add at least one visible component or configured action before publishing.

A saved file can no longer be found

Cause: The Components V2 attachment referenced by the saved panel is unavailable.

Fix: Upload the file again before republishing. Supported panel files are images, TXT, PDF or ZIP under 8 MB.

A role or ticket choice is missing

Cause: The underlying Discord role or reusable ticket type was removed or is not assignable.

Fix: Refresh Discord roles or create the ticket type, then reopen the component and select a current option.
