How to run a Community business and hire members

Community businesses let members own a company and employ other members. The company treasury is separate from your wallet. Wages reserved for active shifts are shown separately from money available to withdraw.

Before you start

  • The server must enable wallets, businesses and suitable business presets; employee shifts also require Jobs.
  • Have enough wallet coins for the displayed purchase price and enough company funds for any wages you offer.

Warning: Confirming a purchase spends the reviewed coins. Closing a business is a separate confirmed action; inspect its staff and outstanding commitments before choosing closure.

Step by step

/business

1. Choose and review a business

Open /business and browse the available businesses. Select one, inspect its current purchase price and confirm only after reviewing the offer. If the price changes, read the refreshed terms before proceeding.

2. Fund the treasury

Open your business and deposit a reviewed amount from your wallet. Check available funds separately from reserved wages. Withdraw only money shown as available.

3. Offer a member paid work

Use the hiring action, pick a current member and review the wage. Confirming creates a public offer whose acceptance belongs to that recipient. The member must accept; opening or selecting an offer alone does not employ them.

4. Manage work and staff

Members start Employer shift from /jobs. The agreed wage is reserved before work and paid once on completion. Review staff and pending offers in /business. A worker can quit through their own controls; confirm closure only when you intend to end the business.

Test the setup

  1. Use a funded test owner to review and buy one business; check the wallet debit and ownership.
  2. Deposit enough for one small wage, then send an offer to a consenting test member.
  3. Have the recipient accept and complete one employer shift; verify one wage payment and the treasury change.
  4. Remove unwanted pending test offers through the available controls. Keep the company unless you deliberately confirm closure.

What a successful setup looks like

The owner can see available and reserved treasury funds, and an accepted employee receives the reviewed wage once for completed work.

Common problems

The employee cannot start work

Check Jobs, cooldown, active shifts and the available company treasury. A reserved wage is already committed.

An employment offer has changed

Review the current offer and wage again. An old offer cannot accept a replacement offer's terms for the recipient.
