How to set up Community Economy with GuildPilot

Community Economy gives one Discord server its own fictional coins, bank, jobs, businesses, Shop and elections. Its balances are separate from Pilot Markets and Pilot Coin. Start with wallets and a small set of activities, then expand after testing.

Before you start

  • You need access to the server dashboard as its owner, an Administrator, a member with Manage Server, or a configured GuildPilot admin role.
  • Use a test member and a normal text channel that GuildPilot can view and write in. New servers start with the Economy modules disabled.

Warning: Enabling a channel hub makes that channel the destination for new Economy activity. GuildPilot needs View Channel, Send Messages, Read Message History and Pin Messages there; check these before saving.

Step by step

1. Choose the currency

Open your server dashboard and select Economy → Currency. Set the currency name, symbol, starting balance and daily reward, then save. The starting balance is granted once on first use; it is not a recurring payment. Use whole coins.

2. Enable wallets and selected activities

Open Wallet & bank and enable the module and the actions members should use. Review its channel restrictions. Configure Jobs, Businesses, Shop & Inventory and President individually; enabling wallets does not automatically enable every activity. Use the values and availability shown in the dashboard.

3. Give members a channel hub

Open Economy → Hub, enable Enable channel hub, choose Hub channel, and save. The public buttons open private member menus. After channel activity, the hub returns below the conversation once 60 seconds pass without another message. Each new message restarts that wait. Post / restore retries delivery to the saved channel.

4. Introduce the member menus

Ask members to open /economy for their wallet, /jobs for careers, /business for businesses, /shop for items, and /president status for elections. Choices and receipts stay private; supported shared activities appear publicly after confirmation. If a hub is enabled, requests in another channel link back to it.

Test the setup

  1. Use the test member to open /economy in the chosen channel and check the currency and starting balance.
  2. Claim an available daily reward and verify that the wallet changes by the displayed amount.
  3. Open the public hub from a second member account and confirm each account sees its own private menu.
  4. Leave legitimate test transactions in history. Disable any test-only activities you do not want members to use.

What a successful setup looks like

Members can find the Economy hub, open their own wallet, and use only the activities you enabled. Balances, daily rewards and allowed channels follow the saved settings.

Common problems

A command is missing or an action is unavailable

Check that Wallet & bank and the relevant activity are enabled and saved. Also check action switches, channel access and any availability message. Allow Discord time to refresh the server's commands.

The hub is blocked or has not moved yet

Review the delivery status and channel permissions in Hub. An ongoing conversation postpones the 60-second repost; Post / restore is available for a missing message.
