Create a timed trading challenge with isolated competition funds, an entry window, announcements and a dedicated leaderboard.
How to run a Pilot Markets competition with GuildPilot
A competition creates a timed trading challenge with its own entry window, starting credits and leaderboard. Competition funds are isolated from normal member balances and positions.
Before you start
You need dashboard access and an active Pilot Markets economy. Prepare a visible announcement channel and choose dates that leave members enough time to join before trading begins.
Create the competition
1. Open Competitions
Select Community → Pilot Markets → Competitions and review any current or scheduled challenge before creating another.
2. Set the schedule and starting funds
Enter the name, entry deadline, trading window and starting competition credits. The schedule is interpreted using the configured economy timezone shown in Pilot Markets.
3. Choose announcements
Select the competition announcement destination and review the member-facing summary. Ensure members can view the channel and GuildPilot can send messages there.
4. Save and verify the challenge
Create the competition, then run /market competition view from a member account. Confirm the name, entry deadline, trading dates and starting funds.
Warning: Cancelling a competition ends that isolated challenge. Confirm the selected competition and explain the cancellation to participants before using the control.
Test the setup
- Use a non-staff test member and run
/market competition view, then join while the entry window is open. Confirm the participant appears in the dashboard or leaderboard. Cancel only a deliberately disposable test competition.
What a successful setup looks like
Members can view and join before the deadline, trades use only competition funds during the trading window, and standings remain separate from the normal server leaderboard.
Common problems
Members cannot join
Cause: The entry deadline passed, the competition is not open or they already joined.
Fix: Check the competition status and schedule in Competitions.
Competition commands show no current challenge
Cause: No competition is scheduled for the current server or the economy is inactive.
Fix: Confirm the server and activate a valid scheduled challenge.
