Increase or disable leveling XP for selected Discord roles and channels while understanding how GuildPilot combines matching multiplier values.

How to configure XP multipliers with GuildPilot

Multipliers let selected roles earn XP faster and let channels change or disable XP locally. GuildPilot uses only the member's highest matching role multiplier and then multiplies it by the selected channel value.

Before you start

  • Set up and enable server leveling.
  • Create the Discord roles and text or voice channels you want to target.
  • Decide whether each rule should increase XP or turn it off.

Warning: A multiplier disables XP for the selected role or channel. Test zero-value rules carefully before applying them to broad member roles or active channels.

Configure XP multipliers

1. Add a role multiplier

Open Leveling → Role multipliers and select Add role multiplier. Choose a Role, enter the XP multiplier, then save.

2. Add other role values

Create separate rows for other roles. Values do not stack across every role: GuildPilot uses only the highest matching role multiplier for a member.

3. Add a channel multiplier

Open Leveling → Channel multipliers and select Add channel multiplier. Choose a text or voice channel and enter its XP multiplier.

4. Review the combined result

For an eligible event, GuildPilot applies the highest matching role value and then the channel value. For example, a role in a 0.5× channel produces the normal XP amount.

5. Save within the displayed quota

Save each list. The dashboard displays the current standard quota and any rows paused by that limit; do not rely on a fixed number outside the dashboard.

Use a small increase for supporter or event roles, and use for channels where XP would encourage noise. Keep the number of overlapping role rules low so members can understand why their XP changed.

Test the setup

  1. Give a test member one configured role and send an eligible message in a normal channel.
  2. Check /level, then repeat after the cooldown in a configured channel.
  3. Confirm that the XP difference matches the role and channel combination.
  4. Remove the test role and any temporary multiplier row.

What a successful setup looks like

Eligible XP changes according to the selected role and channel. A zero-value rule prevents the event from earning XP, while unrelated roles and channels keep the normal rate.

Common problems

Two role multipliers do not stack

Cause: GuildPilot intentionally uses only the highest matching role multiplier.

Fix: Set the intended final role value instead of expecting multiple role values to multiply together.

A multiplier appears to have no effect

Cause: The event was ineligible because of cooldown, spam checks, ignored roles or voice eligibility.

Fix: Test with an eligible message after the cooldown and confirm the member is not excluded from XP.

A saved row is paused

Cause: The list exceeds the current server quota.

Fix: Remove an unneeded row or activate Premium Pilot, using the quota shown in the dashboard.
