Publish a game-specific group-finder launcher with platforms and optional criteria, automatic cleanup, and an optional voice-channel invite.
How to create an LFG or LFP channel with GuildPilot
Looking for Group / Player gives each configured game a launcher button and a structured member form. Posts can include platform, optional rank or KD examples, map, mode, playstyle, availability and an invite to the author's current voice channel.
Before you start
- Create a text or announcement channel for the launcher and posts.
- GuildPilot needs to send embeds and components and delete its expired LFG posts.
- Prepare at least one game name and platform before enabling the launcher.
Warning: GuildPilot can automatically delete published LFG posts. Choose a retention time that gives members enough time to respond.
Create an LFG channel
1. Create the channel configuration
Open Moderation → Channel Settings → Looking for Group / Player and choose New configuration. Select the Channel to restrict, configure the launcher title, description and colour, then choose Save channel and add first game.
2. Add the first game identity
Enter Game name and at least one value under Platforms (one per line). An emoji and button style are optional.
3. Add optional search criteria
Add maps, game modes and playstyles one per line. For ranks, choose typed examples, Discord-role examples or both. These values describe what someone wants to find; GuildPilot does not verify that the author holds a selected rank role.
4. Choose where members can select multiple options
Under Multiple choices, switch on every criterion where a member may choose more than one value. You can configure Platforms, Ranks / requirements, Maps, Game modes and Playstyles independently. A criterion whose switch remains off allows one choice.
5. Configure post lifetime and voice invites
Return to the channel configuration. Set Delete published posts after (minutes) from 1 to 10080. Members can choose Include my current voice channel; GuildPilot omits the field when they are not connected or cannot create an invite.
6. Enable and publish the launcher
Add any other game identities, up to 25 per configuration, then enable the channel and save. Each game becomes a launcher button.
Recommended configuration
Start with only the criteria members actually use. Each platform, map, game-mode and playstyle list supports up to 25 choices. Manual and Discord-role rank examples share a separate 25-choice limit.
Test the setup
- Select a game button with a normal member account.
- Choose more than one value in a criterion where you enabled multiple choices, complete the LFG/LFP form and include a current voice room if available.
- Confirm that the published embed contains the selected details and working voice invite.
- Delete the test post or wait for its configured automatic removal.
What a successful setup looks like
The channel contains one current launcher with a button per game. Completed forms produce consistent posts, and GuildPilot removes them after the saved lifetime.
Common problems
The launcher remains disabled
Cause: No complete game identity exists.
Fix: Add a game name and at least one platform, then return to the configuration and enable it.
A game cannot accept another option
Cause: That criterion has reached 25 choices, or the combined manual and Discord-role rank list has reached 25.
Fix: Remove an unneeded choice before adding another.
A member can select only one value
Cause: Multiple choices are not enabled for that criterion.
Fix: Edit the game identity, open Multiple choices, enable the matching switch and save the game.
The voice invite is omitted
Cause: The author is not in a voice or stage channel or GuildPilot cannot create an invite there.
Fix: Join an eligible voice channel and review the bot's invite permission before submitting again.
The dashboard says the LFG channel quota is reached
Cause: The current Standard quota has been used.
Fix: Remove an unused configuration or activate Premium Pilot. Use the quota shown in the dashboard because it is administrator-configurable.
